The Mitutoyo 1961 Back Plunger Series 1 Dial Indicator was built with the measuring spindle on the back of the unit. This type of indicator offers the same precision and durability as all other Mitutoyo dial indicators, and operates very effectively with the optional retaining rod. Rear pusher type dial gauges are suitable for mounting on planing machine tool tables or inspection jigs, and for use in small spaces where standard dial gage gradations are difficult to see. This model has a 0.04" range with 0.5" per turn, 0.001" graduation and a Dial Reading of 20-0-20. They also have standard stop screw threads up to M2.5x0.45, increased mounting rod length*, a spindle that redesigned for a water-resistant model that allows the use of additional contact points, a tapered hand base/pointer that makes repairs easier if necessary, a tolerance clip is now optional, the shape of the stop screw* changes, and the color of the bezel and dust cover becomes black.
